Anna's Salvation Testimony
Yes, the day that I came to know the Lord personally was the greatest day of my life in so many ways!
I was raised in a Christian home; our family went to church, our family read the Bible, our family served the Lord. But being in a Christian environment doesn't make you a Christian any more than being in McDonalds makes you a hamburger! I knew the Bible stories, but that's all they were to me--stories. I knew that Jesus had died for sins and risen from the dead afterwards, but I didn't connect that fact with anything that I needed to think about.
However, at the age of eight, I began to realize, through the preaching at church, that Jesus had given his life for me as well--that I was a sinner in need of saving. I realized that nothing I could do, whether through my own good deeds or the intervention of my parents, would get me to Heaven. The penalty of sin is death and Hell. Naturally, I didn't want to go to Hell, but I knew I had sinned. Even at eight, I had disobeyed my parents, lied to people, hit my siblings...well, I'm sure you know the kinds of stuff I mean! The only thing to do was to ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins and believe that He died for my sins. I prayed this when I was alone with my Dad; we were hiking at a beautiful park, Kendall Lake, and I still remember the vibrant colors of the fall leaves. I also remember the peace and freedom that came to me after I trusted Jesus to save me.
What about you? Do you remember a time when you asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to save you? If not, please contact me; I would be happy to share with you the way to have eternal peace about your eternal destination.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
