Tucked away in rural Smithville, OH, this barn-turned-restaurant holds so many wonderful memories for me. Besides special dinners there with the family, we've had a homeschool field trip down there for their annual corn maze. Also, I chose to have my 16th birthday party in one of its many quiet dining rooms. Ever since I can remember, I've loved that place. I wish I had more pictures, particularly of the outside, but it was a really cold day and I didn't feel like spending any extra time outside!
The star feature of the restaurant is its magnificent salad bar. I love how they have every topping known to man, from diced ham to sunflower seeds. My other personal favorites are their delicious cheesy broccoli soup and cake-like blueberry bread. The only problem this last time was that I couldn't really eat them! (Noodles and bread aren't on my eating plan!) Thankfully, the others ate my share.
