I know that Thanksgiving is technically over, but I hope we haven't stopped feeling grateful yet! I just want to share a few things that I am VERY thankful for this year!
My family -
Dad, who has a vision for the future
Mom, who listens patiently to my problems and new ideas
Anna, who I laugh with so often
Andrew, who is the world's best accountant and incredibly smart
A.J., who helps me in so many ways without complaining
Tanya, who is the sweetest and cutest little sister ever
And William, who calls me beautiful :)
This year I've realized in a new way just how wonderful friends are! Going out for coffee, emailing, texting, visiting shut-ins, taking walks, and just plain chatting are some of the ways that have enabled me to build better relationships. I don't know what I'd do without you all!
Writing all that makes this year sound like a nice, peaceful, stress-free year. It certainly hasn't been all that. The Lord has had to teach me some hard lessons!
I've struggled with wanting to be married (I feel like I'm so old already, even though others tell me I'm not!), needing direction about marriage, and getting tired of doing the same jobs and ministries over and over again.
But God has certainly done much this year! Some of His blessings have been:
Giving direction about college!
At the moment, I am planning on enrolling for the fall semester at the University of Akron with nutrition as my major. The Lord has led this far, but I'm still waiting on His direction for the next steps.
Allowing me to become an official piano teacher!
You'll have to ask my students how well I'm doing with it, but it has been a wonderful opportunity.
Opening up opportunities to earn money without having to get an outside job
This has been a real answer to pray for me!
Keeping our family safe
Since I got my driver's license in June, there have been a few scary moments! Other members of the family have been in situations where God protected them.
Healing William from his pneumonia
Seriously, this spring he was in pretty bad shape. It was so hard going to the hospital and seeing him hooked up to machines and tubes coming out of his chest. I remember just wanting to hold him but not being able to. When he finally came home from the hospital, I was SO happy just to have him back.
Being a great God!
Even when we don't understand, we can trust.
What are YOU thankful for this year?
