As some of you knew, our family just returned from a week-long vacation in NC's warm 'n' wet Outer Banks! Some of you also knew that I was planning on posting while we were on our trip--obviously, THAT didn't happen! However, I do happen to have an excuse (which I think is somewhat reasonable one); our beach house, comfy and big as it was, lacked internet connections of any sort. No idea why. At first, I was disappointed, but now I think that it actually helped me to enjoy our time a little more.
Anyway, I'm sorry if there were any of you hunched over your computers, typing in this address at five-minute intervals and biting your nails to the quick when there were no new updates. If you can prove to me, possibly by the bitten nails, that this was the case, I will be glad to give you a coconut candy and a manicure... :)
So this was our vacation! We had a marvelous time, but it's good to be home again. "Be it ever so humble..." etc.

Our house for the week! All these beach houses have names--ours was 'Island Jewel'. Abby is in the aqua shirt, and A.J. is in the doorway.
The view from our porch.
Our beach-house pool! I think we were more frequent visitors here than on the beach!
Vacation Activities:
Resting!
After all, that's what vacations are for! :) And I might add burn--um, I mean, tanning, to the list. Say it was tanning, please!
Walking!
Aren't they a cute couple?!?
One misty morning early in our stay, we all trooped out to the ocean to enjoy the surf, sand, and silence, since few were venturing out into the fog. William wanted me to hold his hand--the wavelets were only ankle-high to me, but he was getting soaked!
We also saw this sad sight; apparently, many dolphins are dying from a virus they pick up while migrating (at least, that's what some knowledgeable-looking fisherman told us).
Sand Stuff!
How can you go on a vacation to the beach without getting some cute pictures of kids in sand?! Thanks, Mom--this is one for my computer wallpaper!
